I specialize

in

being

invisible.

I am so fortunate, for with my career, I experience the unknown. The unknown, which creates the balance for the known, these, the prompters of creation. Photography facilitates a viewpoint compressed, a world of my own, yet at the same time, a portal into so many others, expansive. A mask with which I hide, but at the same time reveals me and in turn brings forth the screens of others, and in safety, they are able to disclose themselves.

Whether it be a porcelain bathtub set against the slight imperfections of grey slate, ahi speared on a small wooden stake or musicians on a passage from their source, I transmute them, pass them along - a portal myself. A source with its sense. I am grateful. Thank you.

It is curious how a span of time can lapse where what you adore becomes an unrecognizable weight, like dark matter, then you write your bio, and once again recognitions forms. You reconcile and remember the love.

I do specialize in being invisible. It is one of my missions in life. Within that specialty I am well versed in photographing music. Live gigs do it for me. I love the immediacy of them, the dedication to the moment, a commitment, for those so often regarded as noncommittal. The vulnerability of their affair. The high low, high low, high low of it all is such a reflection of our humanity. They are an influential part of our relativity.

I am equally at home in the recording studio, blending into the process of the creation of the void/non-void, which music, as does life, depends on. For with out these two contrasts where would the notes lie?

Blending, that which is always my goal. I believe in this collaborative process. In these moments, I am the soft active element. In the merging of the unknown to the know and then revealing the known to the unknown, the process repeats over and over again.

I also include in this process photographing the work of other artisans: wrought iron work, tile, general contracting, interior design, the art of the dining experience - from the perspective of behind the curtain, and other performance art such as dance and theatre. All of these I love. I have a tremendous grasp of respect for their time and mettle, the act of blind faith one must give into and then sustain, to be a creator of themselves and therefore their lives. The impact this has is our collective culture and should be revered. Thank you.

Hello Jenée,

We couldn't be happier with all of the photos!  We are so thrilled to have them.  I'll have to send you a copy of the American Cancer Society program when we get back mid-May.

Thanks again for everything.  It was great meeting you.  We will be sure to call you in the future for any of our photo needs … and recommend you to our family and friends.  Feel free to use me as a reference if you like.

Warm regards

Pam

Jenée has a knack for capturing the vibe and the spirit of what is happening in the pictures that she takes.  She has that rare trait of being able to be a fly on the wall, non obtrusive to the subjects so that they are able to be relaxed, natural, and un-posed for the camera and that’s where the magic is caught on film.  This has been particularly beneficial to working with our band in the recording studio and at our shows, backstage, onstage etc. She also is able to find unique angles for a view not often looked at but yet yields a great reward to the viewer.

Always a pleasure to deal with personally and professionally and always with a smile on her face.

Dear SM Daily Journal,

Thank you so much for sending  Jenée Crayne to last nights wine tasting at New Leaf, Half Moon Bay. I expected that she would take a couple photos and be gone but was really impressed that she stayed the entire 2 hours. She is very professional with customers and patient in capturing the essence of the event. I'm looking forward to her photos and hope to see her again.

Warm regards,
